If you have a choice DO NOT GO HERE!!! My grandma was rushed here by ambulance when she collapsed and was unresponsive. She suffered a massive stroke that day and she stayed in the er waiting for their stupid ignorant "on call" neurosurgeon to answer his pager. He never did. So finally after 4 hours they finally decided to fly her to Pittsburgh. She had so much blood and swelling after all that waiting that surgery was no longer an option and she died the next day. I never got the name of that neurosurgeon.... Lucky him because I'd have sued the pants off him.
I have been there several times for myself and for family members. I have always found everyone to be courteous and friendly as well as knowledgable and professional. I stayed with my mother when she was a patient there for eleven days. I found that around the clock care was given and found nothing to complain about. The nurses became friends and treated us both very well. I highly recommend ACMH.
Okay doctors. I would rather go to Allegheny valley or Allegheny general in Pittsburgh
Paul Patterson is the worst doctor I have ever met. He was disrespectful and didn't even look at me. He ordered unnecessary tests and in telling me the results he said "your fine go to your PCP" never actually gave me a diagnpsis. Then charged me $1,300. I called and they said it's that amount because he gave me a diagnosis and read the results of my tests.
All of this for nothing but debt and my medical issue was never taken care of. If you have the choice run to a different hospital because this one will simply charge you for nothing.
The hospital itself was no better. I was there for MANY hours and saw the rent-a-doc for 15 minuets and they charged me $600. I applied for financial assistance to make payment. I had been in contact with them a few times. They did not mention anything about me making any payments yet and today I get a letter that the bill was sent to a collection agency.
This has to be one of the worse hospitals I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. There was not one single person that was even an eighth of the way caring. No manners and rude. My father-in-law was transferred to 3 different rooms and on each transfer the staff had no clue to what was going on. We were told the staff didn't do personal hygiene on the long term care unit and we had to get the hospital administration involved in order for them to even brush his teeth. I wouldn't have even given it one star but I had to rate them something. They suck!!! The staff sucks and it seems as if they are only there for the paycheck which they don't deserve.
